The Smart Gonio is a goniometer, but on the axis of rotation it is equivalent to a protractor with ±15 degrees in 5-degree increments from the centre and 30 degrees overall. There is no need to rotate each axis as range as the joint angle is within 30degrees.

Shoulder Girdle Elevation & Drpression

The goniometer is applied from the front with the stationary axis and the movement axis in a straight line. The normal ROM is 20° for elevation and 10° for depression, so in most cases the goniometer can be measured without moving it.

If the bottom line of the fan is aligned, it does not need to be rotated at angles of up to 30 degrees.

Hip Extention

The same applies to hip extension: in most cases, extension is within about 15 degrees, but if the lower line is kept straight, up to 30 degrees of extension can be measured without any rotation of the axis.
